The GenV WG60CG PowerGate60 Compressed Gas (Solenoid) 7psi Black is a genuine Turbosmart performance part designed for reliable operation, precise fitment and proven results on street and track builds.

The GenV PowerGate WG60CG Compressed Gas external wastegate with integrated boost control. Turbosmart has taken the complexity of out of CO2 boost control by taking the “spill” and “fill” control solenoids as well as the dome pressure sensor required for CO2 boost control and integrating them directly into the wastegate cap. The Compressed Gas / C02 external wastegate range from Turbosmart features an inverted diaphragm suitable for high-pressure C02 or compressed air systems and large pressure differentials. The GenV provides extensive user configurability, world-leading extended thermal performance, fatigue resistance and best-in-class flow performance for optimum control and longevity. The GenV External Wastegate from Turbosmart was a ground-up rework of a classic, and the only feature that rolled over from the Gen4 range was the mounting orientation. CFD optimised and validated in-house for maximum flow and thermal management. The GenV range has more features, options and performance than any other gate. A direct fit upgrade to all Gen4 Turbosmart wastegates and feature our unique collar-locking system, variable actuator cap and base for easy, 360-degree optional routing of reference hoses, strap-type V-band clamps, optional liquid-cooling provision, 1/8″ NPT reference ports and are provided with the full range of available springs. EDIT: Well, 2 months later, this is still performing okay, however some of the needles have gotten slightly bent, causing it to seem loose and wobbly as they rotate within their opening. . Not a great aspect of this design. If you loosen the head straighten any bent needles, it does help a little bit. So far so good. It’s made a little difference in our coffee. We buy espresso beans and so we really pay attention to the way the espresso acts from cup to cup. We notice that after using this tool our coffee is a little sweeter, probably because the way the grounds are so evenly distributed and the little channels that the wires create. Easy to use, store, and keep clean. And it’s cute on the counter!

I rarely give 5 star reviews. This product deserves it. A lot of thought has gone into the design. First, the material of it is quite good, metal. It has a contoured and knurled top for ease of use and good grip without being "grippy". The recepticle has little brushes inside which I think is unique to this product. Will those brushes created a problem in the future? I don't know. But there must be a way to clean out the coffee dust at some point. An air blower? Until now I had been using a home-made WDT with acupuncuture needles drilled into a cork. When I used the Nessus WTD I could immediately feel a difference as I stirred the grounds. While I have only made two double-shots so far, there was noticeably less channeling that I had before (I use a bottomless portafilter exclusively). Actually I had no channeling, but initially two streams that mergedi into one in about 3 seconds, so pretty good compared to what I had before. Nothing much more to say except the price was quite good compared to other WDT's. Even though I haven't used this product more than a few times, I can, at least at first blush, recommend it.

This is a solid, well-made WDT tool that does exactly what it’s supposed to do — and gives you room to fine-tune it to your preference. The build quality feels good in the hand, and it works well right out of the box. A big plus is that it comes with extra needles, which makes it easy to change out bend needles or customize. I found that removing some of the needles actually improved usability for me. With all nine installed, it tended to push grounds around too aggressively. I’m currently running just 3 needles, and that setup works much better for gently breaking up clumps and distributing grounds without pushing or spilling coffee over the basket. Once dialed in, it’s been very effective and consistent. Overall, this is a great tool from TIVERAIN. If you like dialing in your workflow and want control over how aggressive your WDT is, this one is a great option.
